Easy question - we started doing this because no-one else was. It's just too easy to waste bandwidth sending rubbish email, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to block spam.
Pretty much nothing. DMM-India are providing the hosting free, so that helps keeps our cost down. mailexpire is our modest contribution to the common good of the net.
Yes. The mailexpire service is completely free to use.
We will never charge for the mailexpire service that you see now, and we will continue to provide it for free for as long as possible. We are currently considering a number of extra features. Some of these may be made available on a subscription basis. Further details of this will be made available on the site closer to the date. Any future subscription services will not affect the free service. |
Well, if you feel like clicking on any of the banners, that would be a help. We may also start selling some related items (books, software etc) or maybe even mailexpire TShirts on the site. If you would like to buy any of these, that would be great. If not, don't worry about it. You are still very welcome to use the service.
The abillity to send mail from your mailexpire alias might seem tempting at first, but think about it. We want to protect people from spam. If we allowed people to send email without revealing their identity, this facility would be certain to be abused by spammers, and we would be making things worse, not better. We have no intention of doing that.
You didn't. mailexpire does not allow mail to be sent through its servers. You may, however, have received a forgery. Spammers have been known to forge the email headers to hide where it really comes from. You need to get the headers of your email examined to try work out where it came from. If you use Outlook, you can view the full headers by opening the mail, clicking on View and clicking on Headers. |
